71.80 lakh employees will benefit from the plan.
As you all know, the Self Employed India Program was started to increase employment opportunities. At the time of launching this plan, a target was set to cover around 58.5 lakh beneficiaries. Rs 993.26 crore has been provided to 22.57 lakh employees of 84,390 institutions through this plan as of July 12, 2021. This plan was launched last year under the Self-Reliant India Package 3.0. The main objective of launching the Self Employed India Program is to encourage employers to create jobs. Through this scheme, those employees whose work has been lost due to the coronavirus infection and who have not worked in any institution covered by the EPF until September 30, 2020 will also benefit. The government has extended this scheme until September 31 March 2022.

On June 28, 2021, by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the scope of India’s Self-Employment Program was extended until March 30, 2022. This program started from October 1, 2020 to October 30 June 2021. This program will now be operational until March 30, 2022. The last date to register for this plan is July 30, 2021. Employers will be encouraged to create employment through Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana Scheme. If there are more than 1000 employees in an organization, then in this situation the government will only deposit the employee’s contribution.
The benefit of this plan will be provided for 2 years to all those employees whose monthly income is less than ₹ 15000 or ₹ 15000. The government will spend a total amount of Rs 22810 crore for the operation of this plan. So 58.50 lakh beneficiaries will benefit from this scheme. An amount of Rs 902 crore has been spent until June 18, 2021 to benefit 21.42 lakh beneficiaries from 79,577 institutions.
Extension of last registration date

During this period, the employee must not be associated with any company that is registered with EPFO.
16.5 lakh beneficiaries benefited from the plan
India’s independent employment scheme has been launched to compensate for the job loss during the transition to the crown.
